Sashiko - Visible mending Workshop
Repairing instead of throwing away.
Sashiko is a traditional Japanese method of repairing or decorating textiles.
We sew by hand, with a basic running stitch, no special previous knowledge is required. Through our handicraft, concentration and skill we give an object a new value, a personal expression and a new life. We learn about the history, principles and various patterns of this centuries-old Japanese technique and how to apply it.
Moreover, it is fun and relaxing to sew together.
The workshop will be led by Madeleine. She is a hand-craft teacher, learned Sashiko from a Japanese textile artist and offers workshops in France and Switzerland.
